The race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong: time
and chance happeneth them all (Ecc 9:
11) kjv.
Life is a race! As funny as this sound, it’s a fact that
we can’t afford to deny. It may seem false as everyone is going about, being
busy with their daily activities and highly esteemed dreams. If you really
observe it even without a microscope, bring it to focus that life is a race, a
competition indeed!
Don’t you
realize that in a race, everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So
run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a
prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. (1 cor
9: 24- 26). Nlv
Really, there is no sense in running if you don’t have
the prize in mind. It’s also useless to run because others are running or
because your friends or peers are running. It is pointless if you are running
with no purpose in mind. It’s like you are just wasting your useful adrenaline
for no just cause. It is also very STUPID
and indeed FOOLISH to claim you are running
when you are running outside the track or field. It’s hilarious to start your
own race when others have finished the race and possible collected the prizes
for the race you intend to start running. You can also claim that you are
running when you are just jogging on a spot and then justify yourself by
saying, “at least my legs are moving” or you will claim that you are not
stagnant. You are just wasting your time if you belong to this category.
To run effectively, find a purpose for your race. The
time is of great significance as well, of which if not considered, then it’s no
longer a race. The G-factor (GOD) stands the
ultimate pre-requisite to run an effective race. God is the ultimate person
that that make you win a race. In the word GRACE,
the G-factor comes first. When you remove
God outside your affairs in life, then you are just running “a race” like a mouse. When you allow God to come in
then grace is made available to run well to win the prize.
I have observed
something under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and
the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go
hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are
educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by
being in the right place at the right time
The importance of the mercy of God when running a race can’t
be over emphasized. This was why we were advised to come boldly to the throne
of grace so that we might obtain mercy and find grace to help us in time of
need (Heb 4; 16 kjv). We have this free access to God’s mercy when we turn to
him for help. This will make us enjoy lots of benefits effortlessly especially
ones we know that we didn’t even deserve.
It is also important that in life you do not compare
yourself with others. Don’t use people standard as a yardstick to measure your
achievements in life. Instead, look to Jesus the author and finisher of our
faith. The Bible says that those who go about comparing themselves with others
are not wise. Run your own race and don’t run the race of another (copy cat).
This issue can be channeled down to the various
challenges we face in life, competitions we come across inn our academic or
career aspect, in our Christian life, walk with God or in various aspects of
life. Do not ever give up. With God on your side, all will turn around to favor
you. Hard work coupled with determination and discipline should not be
forgotten.
Finally,
don’t forget that life without God will be like a race without purpose but if
God is involved to the fullest, we will be propelled and get to our
destinations in a time faster than the speed of light!. ... . . culled from mfmcfmedilag.wordpress.com
